PCR Rating 577 for Tiki Blue

Final start dates and time are set. Our start is 2:00 PM on Tuesday July 15th in division C with 8 other boats with PHRF rating from 72 to 108. Total boats racing in 8 divisions stands at 61 boats with the last start on Saturday the 19th (for the fast boats). Our time allowance is 13 days 19 hours 46 minutes and 30 seconds. Our fast track estimate is 12.5 days and normal arrival is 14.8 days. So depending on the wind, course, equipment, electronics and our collective sailing skills we could arrive in Kaneohe YC July 28-30th. Of course if we miss the islands we could end up in Hong Kong the end of August :)

New Batteries

New AGM batteries have been installed and secured which will help power up refer, SSB, GPS, Nav lights and everything needing power. Planning to do test call on SSB this weekend. Iridium phone has been purchased (thanks Torben) and plan to do some tests with that as well.

Our start date is July 15th--Division C

We leave on July 15th and can't believe we are less then three weeks away. We will leave the coast in most likely a fog shrouded marine layer with stiff breezes and cold weather. Tiki Blue will be looking for the warm trade winds and blue water. We hope to arrive 12-13 days after our start.

Passed First Inspection

On fathers day we passed our first inspection with a few minor follow-up tasks to complete. Now I'm getting excited and counting down the days until our start.

First inspection

After months and months of preparation we have our first inspection this weekend. Hope it goes well and we are close to meeting all regs and safety requirements.
