RYC Pacific Cup Village NEW for 2014

Richmond Yacht club of which I'm a member, will be hosting the RYC Pac Cup Village to support out of town boats for preparation, fun festivities and support through individual start dates. For the first time in the history of the Pacific Cup Race, prepping and leaving for the Pac Cup will be exciting, fun and VERY supportive via the various activities of the RYC Pac Cup Village! Be there!

Thinking about getting to the starting line.

Can't wait to hit the start line in July 2014 and head out the Golden Gate for 2070 miles of open ocean. Getting off the land based grid will be a nice change! Ocean life is always challenging, exciting and relaxing in many different ways. Its a complex mosaic of power, rolling swells, winds, sea life, squalls, sunsets, sunrises and mind refreshing endless horizons.

 

We have our new Tiki Mascot thanks to business associates of Kelly's who had a fun day on the bay on Tiki Blue and sent us this Tiki statue. It will be placed strategically in the salon to keep the crew motivated to sail 24/7 for 12 days across the pacific to Hawaii next year in the 2014 Pacific Cup Race

Tiki Blue-needs a bottom job before July 2014

Now I need to determine the next best window to haul her out and have the bottom re painted. I'm thinking late October or fall when boat yards have less demand and more time.

Officially signed up for Pacific Cup 2014 with stats and boat details. Now time to go through Pac Cup inventory of safety gear and start getting organized. Tethers look strong and ready to do the Squall Busters theme song across the pacific!
